FilmTecknarna, based in Stockholm and New York City, is a storytelling and design-based production company. Created by Lars Ohlson, Jonas Odell, and Stig Bergqvist, FilmTecknarna is known for its groundbreaking work using live action, 2D and 3D animation to fuel cross-platform, narrative filmmaking. The company’s creative portfolio includes: extensive international advertising campaigns for Absolut, BMW, Boddingtons, Ikea, McDonald\'s, Hummer, and Southern Comfort); music videos for Madonna (\'Music\'), Franz Ferdinand (\'Take Me Out\') and U2 (‘Windows in the Skies’); several short films including \'Lies,\' directed by Jonas Odell, which won the Special Jury Prize for Best International Short Film at the 2009 Sundance film festival; and big screen, alternative media installation work for fashion shows (Hugo Boss), concerts (Madonna’s ‘Sticky and Sweet’ tour) and events. FilmTecknarna is known for its strong capabilities in the field of mixed-media, where the studio’s directors often combine different kinds of motion design with live-action film. in producing commercials for clients all over the world; the commercial division regularly works with major advertising agencies including Leo Burnett, Modernista, Arnold, Grey, St. Luke’s, and TBWA Chiat Day. The FilmTecknarna Group consists of several sister companies that specialize in distinct areas, including experiential marketing, environmental design, commercials, Internet and cinema, short films, TV-production, design and broadcast graphics.
